Some people get annoyed when they hear kids making noise on hiking trails. Not me. Those screeches of delight signify a child enjoying the outdoors, which can only be good. Of course, little kids can get annoyingly whiny on a hike.

“When will we get there? Is this the top?” Repeated every minute or so, this gets old for both parents and strangers. But the result is worth it and those whines diminish considerably after a child has conquered a mountain.
